Sukanya Mani

As an interdisciplinary artist, I work with various media to tell compelling stories. My installations are immersive experiences, inviting viewers to engage with the stories they tell. Each element is carefully chosen and placed to provoke reflection and dialogue about gender roles, identity, and social constructs. Through educational projects and community involvement, I strive to empower others, fostering a collaborative environment where art becomes a catalyst for social change.

I seek to activate public and private spaces in ways that are engaging, immersive, and contemplative. When I tell a story about a community, a space, or an idea, I start by discovering what is already there for me to creatively explore or support. Community art is a unique narrative, meticulously crafted to resonate with the history, culture, and spirit of its surroundings. Yet, the magic of this work is not confined to one place; it travels, bringing its transformative power to new audiences and environments. My process involves creating with intent, placing context into my work, and meeting the communities where they are. And this is what I have learned- listening with both head and heart is essential to telling authentic stories.
