Jacob Stanley

Jacob Stanley is a sculptor who has created large-scale commissions at sites around the country. His work often focuses on temporary site-responsive installations which subvert the original purpose of industrial materials. Stanley’s work exists in a state of dynamic stasis—between tension and balance, refinement and rawness. The artist has created large-scale commissions in New Albany, Indiana and Charleston, South Carolina; for the Bonnaroo Music and Arts festival in Tennessee; and on Browns Island in Richmond, Virginia for the Richmond Symphony. He has exhibited at the Scheidegger Center for the Arts in St. Charles and the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis. Stanley has participated in several artist residencies including: Art Channel, Beijing, China; and Elsewhere Living Museum, Greensboro, North Carolina, and most recently a residency funded by the Groot Foundation at Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter, Minnesota.
